Green Card Through Marriage Approved!

Our client is a native and citizen of Guatemala, who entered the United States legally with a visa. He then met and married his United States citizen wife, and together they have a United States citizen child. Unfortunately, he overstayed his visa, and was placed into deportation proceedings. He and his wife first worked with another attorney, who wasn’t communicating with them about their case, and wasn’t moving the case forward.

Our client and his wife came to Ms. Kruger for a detailed case evaluation, during which she advised the best way to go forward, what the legal fees would be, and the estimated timelines for each step of the process. They then retained her to work on the case.

Ms. Kruger advised our Client through the Petition for Alien Relative process, was approved. Ms. Kruger then prepared and filed a Motion to Terminate with the Immigration Court, which was granted by the Judge, and meant that our client was no longer in deportation proceedings. Ms. Kruger prepared and filed an Application to Adjust Status with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on our Client’s behalf, showing that he was eligible to adjust his status to that of a Lawful Permanent Resident because he was lawfully inspected and admitted to the United States, he is married to a United States citizen, and a visa number is immediately available to him.

Our client and his wife recently went to their adjustment interview their local USCIS office, and they were approved at the interview! Our client’s green card should arrive within 30 days, and he now has the right to live and work in the United States with his family permanently!

Here’s what our client had to say about working with our firm: “Just want to thank you so much for all you did for us. You really are an example of a committed lawyer.”
